Painting Exercise -part 2- of the ‘Great Piece of Turf’ by Durer.
This is turning out to be a good exercise, as there are numerous subtle differences Durer made between warm and cool greens, and shadows. My subtly is hardly to be compared with his. Here, my methods and materials are entirely different -far more plastic, literally- the ground is acetate and I am mixing my oils with mediums which make the paint liquid and then sit upon one another separately when dry, they retain translucency depending on the ratio of oil to medium, closer to industrial materials than traditional oil painting (and yes, you can see through most of these new works if held up to the light!).. didn’t Durer actually make some images which would work well as stain-glassed works?
